WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT CHOICE DEMENTIA SERVICES

Choice Dementia Services (Choice) delivers on – demand CareGiver In-Home Respite by providing advanced specialized care, education and emotional support to loved ones and their families living with Alzheimer’s or related Dementia.

We take pride in our approach to home care and offer our clients family style support. We treat our clients like we would treat our own family members and as a result, we build true relationships with our clients and their loved ones. We provide vital education, support, and a listening ear to the primary CareGivers when they need it the most.

Whether it is taking a walk around the park, doing a puzzle, helping with baths or sharing a meal, our Health Care Professional (HCPs) take the time to get to know their clients; they become friends, not just CareGivers.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to be a part of our client’s extended family. Through our one family - one HPA approach, you will get to know your clients on a personal level and build trust. You will create an environment where our clients feel comfortable, special and cared for.

You will understand who your patients really are, what they need, what makes them happy, and what makes them tick. As a result, you will create personalized plans so their daily activities no longer feel like a chore, but simply like spending the day with a friend or family member.

  • Communicate daily activities and care needs

  • Prepare home cooked family style meals

  • Assist clients with grooming and personal needs

  • Plan activities/social engagements to keep patient’s active and stimulated

  • Escort clients to appointments or social activities

  • Engage in friendly conversations

  • Maintain a comfortable living space by completing light housekeeping duties

 WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Passion for providing home care to the elderly (specifically those with Alzheimer’s or related Dementia)

  • Certified Care Aide/BC Care Aide Registry

  • 2 years experience as an HPA

  • Proven ability to build genuine relationships

  • Clear command of the English language

  • Valid driver’s license insured for business with a clean abstract (preferred)
